The Bell Tower was built in 1911 by Jock Spence, master builder from Scotland. In those days, it was used only as a community call system for emergencies and to announce weddings and funerals. The cast iron bell came from a congregation in Georgetown. The Celtic Cross on the top of the tower was given by the Old Church of Redeemer in New York City and is over 185 years old.

The Bell Tower was restored in 1979 by the US Army Corps of Engineers and again in 2014.
